The World Water Forum is the world’s biggest water-related event and is organized by the World Water Council.

Its mission is “to promote awareness, build political commitment and trigger action on critical water issues at all levels, to facilitate the efficient conservation, protection, development, planning, management and use of water in all its dimensions on an environmentally sustainable basis for the benefit of all life.

Nature for Water: World Water Day 2018iwa

World Water Day (22 March is a day to raise awareness and inspire action to tackle water and sanitation issues. Every year, UN-Water proposes a theme for World Water Day corresponding to a current or future challenge.

 The theme sets the focus for the World Water Development Report launched annually on 22 March. 

 World Water Day 2018 ’Nature for Water’ will show the potential of nature-based solutions for water and how they can be considered for water management policy and practice.

In this session, participants will get an opportunity to learn more about the theme of World Water Day, the objectives of the campaign and identify ways for their organizations to be actively involved. The World Water Day campaign is coordinated by the Convention on Biological Diversity, UNESCO and UN Environment with the support of other UNWater Members and Partners.

Water Loss 2018iwa

The IWA Water Loss Specialist Group, together with City Of Cape Town, will host the biennial Water Loss Conference and Exhibit from 7 to 9 May 2018 at the Century City Conference Centre and Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Water Loss Conference and Exhibition 2018 will be one of the world’s largest water loss conferences and is expected to attract over 500 participants from more than 50 countries. Many of the world’s leading experts in the field of Non Revenue Water Management will be present and will discuss the latest developments, strategies, techniques and applications of international best practices as well as successful case studies.

In addition they will present a 1-day preconference workshop on 6 May 2018 to provide an introduction to the issue of Non Revenue Water Management and an overview of the latest IWA Methodology for reducing water losses from Municipal water supply systems.
