Itshould be useful for all project staff working in nutritionand WASH programmes when WASH and/or a nutritionprogramme are in operation.

The paper gives guidance and some practical suggestionson making WASH programmes more nutrition-sensitiveand on how nutrition programmes can better incorporateWASH aspects. Made suggestions are divided into sixcategories:

1) During the assessment phase

2) During counselling and health promotion activities

3) When strengthening overall community services

4) At institutional level (government, NGO)

5) Under emergency response programmes

6) Through joint research projects
